Massachusetts Falls 62-78 To Arizona State In Hall of Fame Classic

SPRINGFIELD, MASS. -- Massachusetts basketball (5-8) dropped its final non-conference matchup, 62-78, to Big 12 foe Arizona State (9-2) on Saturday night at the MassMutual Center. The Minutemen carried a 33-31 lead into the halftime break, but fell victim to a 13-0 Sun Devil run which iced the defeat.
Rahsool Diggins led all players with a game-high 24 points on 8-of-17 shooting from the field. Diggins went 4-of-8 from three-point range, notching his second 20-plus point performance of the season.
Daniel Rivera recorded nine points, nine rebounds while securing a pair of blocks. Shahid Muhammad also recorded two blocks, adding six points on a perfect 3-of-3 shooting from the field.
Akil Watson played 17 minutes against his former team, scoring seven points including a 2-of-3 night from three-point range.
The Sun Devils were led by Basheer Jihad who scored a team-high 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field.
