Women’s Soccer Places Six On CSC Academic All-District Team

AMHERST, Mass. – Six members of the University of Massachusetts women's soccer team earned Academic All-District honors, as announced by the College Sports Communicators organization on Tuesday. Ella Curry, Kelly Pease, Emma Pedolzky, Hannah Peric, Grace Pinkus and Juliana Ryan were selected for their efforts on the field and in the classroom.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Women's Soccer teams, selected by CSC, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The student-athletes must maintain a 3.5 GPA or higher.
Additionally, Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on December 11. Curry and Peric are two honorees that have landed on the national ballot that will be voted on by CSC members.
Curry, a Collegeville, Pennsylvania, native, earned her bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and is pursuing her master's in Management. She started in all 21 games for the Minutewomen and totaled 1,700 minutes on the season. Curry registered four goals and four assists for 12 points on the year, tying for first on the team in assists and tying for second in points. She had her first career multi-assist contest against Fordahm (9/26) with a career-high two, and recorded her first multi-point game with a goal and assist versus Rhode Island (9/29) to tally a career-best three points. In the Atlantic 10 Quarterfinals, she helped the team to a 1-0 victory over No. 6 Loyola Chicago (11/2) to advance to the semifinals after scoring an olimpico goal. Curry earned A-10 Offensive Player of the Week, while landing on the A-10 All-Conference Second Team as a defender this season. She also became the program's all-time leader in Career Games Played with 91 games played.
Pease, a Natick, Massachusetts, native, is earning her bachelor's degree in Management. She got the start in all 21 games for UMass and totaled 1,454 minutes on the pitch. Pease registered four shots on the year, with one shot on goal, including a season-best two shots against Northeastern (9/5).
Pedolzky, a Westfield, Massachusetts, native, is currently working towards her bachelor's degree in Computer Science. Competing in all 21 games for the Minutewomen, Pedolzky earned the start in 18 of her appearances. She accumulated 1,230 minutes on the season and tallied 11 points on four goals and three assists. She buried two game-winning goals, as well, for UMass. Her points total tied her for third on the team, while she tied for third in goals (four) and tied for second in assists (three). Pedolzky had 21 shots and placed nine on target, with a season-best four shots at George Washington (10/3). She scored a goal in consecutive games, notching a goal at George Washington (10/3) and at Saint Joseph's (10/6). The senior also chipped in the game-winning goal to give UMass the 2-1 win at No. 2 Dayton in the A-10 Semifinals to move on the to the finals. Pedolzky was selected to the A-10 All-Championship Team at the conclusion of the league tournament.
Peric, a Sydney, Australia, native, received her bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Managerial Economics and is pursuing her master's in Management. Staring in all 21 games, the graduate student averaged over 1,771 minutes on the field, ranking second on the team in minutes. She collected five points on one goal and three assists, while placing two of her four shots on goal. Peric punched in the game-winning goal against Rhode Island (9.29) to record a season-high two points. She was a key defender in aiding the Minutewomen to nine shutouts and holding opponents to only 23 points allowed. Peric earned an A-10 Defensive Player of the Week nod in the season.
Pinkus, a Manchester, Vermont, native, received her bachelor's in Kinesiology and is currently in the University Without Walls program. The graduate student appeared in all 21 games, getting the start in six. She tallied 903 minutes on the pitch, registering two goals and two assists for six points. Pinkus also had 23 shots with 14 on target. She recorded a penalty kick goal at VCU (10/27) to tie the game in the regular season finale, and posted a season-best three shots, all on goal, at St. Bonaventure (9/22).
Ryan, a Staten Island, New York, native is pursuing a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology. The senior started in all 21 contests for UMass, tallying 1,649 minutes on the field. She recorded five points on one goal and three assists. Her lone goal of the year against Fordham (9/26) marked the game-winning goal in the 4-2 victory, while she added an assist for her first career multi-point game with a career-best three points. Ryan also totaled 11 shots with five on goal. She was a member of the A-10 All-Championship Team.
