Massachusetts Men’s Track & Field Completes BU’s Battle In Beantown

BOSTON, Mass.- The University of Massachusetts men's track and field team competed in the Battle in Beantown hosted by BU on Saturday. Will Kenney led the Minutemen as he won the 3000m with a school record time of 8:05.84.

 

Highlights from competition

  • Along with Kenney's first place finish in the 3000m, UMass took six of the top eight spots in the 22 runner field. Loeden Rodrigues, Robert Carew, and Xavier Metivier all finished within the top five.

  • Joachim Ennoo won the triple jump for the second consecutive meet with a mark of 48' 4 ¾"

  • Godot Gaskins had a solid meet, finishing third in the 400m and fourth in the 200m with a personal best indoor time of 21.86.

  • Freshman Brennan Ibbitson had a personal best throw of 46' 6" in the shot put to win his heat.

  • Michael Harden had a podium finish in the long jump with an indoor personal best mark of 23' 1.25". 

  • In the 60m hurdles, Nasir Perry took fourth with a time of 8.22 in the final while Alec Pescoe came in seventh with a time of 8.54.

  • Freshman Colin Kirn came in fifth in the 500m with a time of 1:20.30.

 

The Minutemen will be back at the BU Track & Tennis Center on Friday as they compete in the Terrier Invite on January 26th and will go to the UML River Hawk Invite on Saturday, January 27th.
