Massachusetts Men's Track & Field Places Fifth In Atlantic 10 Championships

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts men's track and field picked up five medals and set a school record and two more top-eight all-time marks on the final day of the Atlantic 10 Championships at the UMass Track & Field Complex on Sunday. The Minutemen finished fifth in the team standings with 73 points as Rhode Island (172 points), George Mason (148 points), VCU (138 points) and Davidson (105 points) making up the rest of the top five.
- The 4x100 meter relay team of Felipe Gonzalez, Michael Rodia, Michael Harden and Godot Gaskins combined to post a school record time of 40.89 seconds and earned bronze.
- Gaskins also collected bronze in the 400 meter dash in 47.20 seconds and scored in 200 meter dash (eighth, 21.96), while Harden was sixth (21.82).
- Nasir Perry ran 14.28 seconds to sixth in 110 meter hurdles, good for the No. 2 time in the UMass record book.
- Also scoring on the track, Daniel Dubsky was sixth in 400 meter hurdles (53.99), the 4x400 meter relay team of Christopher Matthews, Mojuba Shonekan, Alexander Laurent, and Gaskins finished fourth in 3:15.44 and the 4x800 meter relay team of Will Kenney, Nicholas Valianti, Zach Conant and Nicholas Calitri placed eighth (7:48.44).
- UMass captured two medals in discus as Tevin Early took silver (166-7) with the No. 5 all-time mark in program history and Joseph Duggan received bronze (166-5). Duggan also took home a second bronze medal in shot put with a toss of 52 feet, 6 inches.
