Tichy Earns Two Weekly Honors

Tichy honored College Baseball News National Player of the Week and Atlantic 10 Player of the Week.
AMHERST, Mass. – Junior Nolan Tichy tabbed Collegiate Baseball National Player of the Week and Atlantic 10 Player of the Week, announced on Monday, after his stellar performance through five games last week. Tichy was one of 15 players honored as a National Player of the Week, while earning his first A-10 weekly accolade.
Last week, Tichy earned a .591 batting average, a .583 on base percentage and a 1.136 slugging percentage overall. The Orono, Minnesota, native recorded 13 hits, 13 RBI, five runs, a walk and four long balls in 22 total at bats, and swiped three bases. The junior contributed three hits and two runs, including a home run, against Hartford and drove in two runs. In the second midweek contest against Siena, he tallied a career-best two homers, going 3-for-4 overall, and a career high six RBI, while adding two runs, a walk and a stolen base. During the weekend series at St. Bonaventure, he registered two RBI and a career-high matching two stolen bases in game one. Game three of the series saw Tichy hit his eighth long ball of the season on a 3-for-4 day, with two RBI and a run. On the field, the left fielder totaled four putouts across five contests and had only one error.
Tichy and the Minutemen are scheduled for road trip to Quinnipiac on Wednesday, May 3, at 3 p.m.
