Massachusetts Men's Track And Field Wins Commonwealth Invitational

AMHERST, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts men's track and field team won the Commonwealth Invitational on Saturday, scoring 184 points in the ten-team field. The performance was highlighted by a school record-breaking 400m dash performance by Godot Gaskins.

- Ethan Clark ran a time of 11.00 in the 100m dash for third place.
- Michael Harden, Clark, and Felipe Gonzalez took the 1-2-3 spots in the 200m dash with times of 21.86, 22.17, and 22.18, respectively.
- Gaskins won the 400m dash in 46.84 seconds, setting the school record in the event.
- Alexander Laurent and Mojuba Shonekan took 1-2 in the 800m run with times of 1:54.74 and 1:54.95, respectively.
- Riley Cole was the first Minuteman to cross the finish line in the 5k in 15:25.99.
- Nasir Perry won the 110mH in 14.59 seconds.
- Daniel Dubsky picked up a first place finish in the 400mH in 54.89 seconds.
- Nicholas Valianti and Zach Conant took first and second places in the steeplechase, clocking times of 9:27.02 and 9:37.92, respectively.
- The 4x100m 'A' team of Clark, Michael Rodia, Gonzalez, and Gaskins ran a 41.56 to first place.
- The 4x400m 'A' team of Christopher Matthews, Sean McKay, Shonekan, and Gaskins won the event in 3:17.30.
- Harden took second place in the long jump, leaping 21' 6".
- Joseph Duggan was the top finisher for UMass in the shot put (53' 4.5") and the discus (150' 0"), good for second and third places, respectively. Duggan's shot put performance now makes him No. 5 all-time at UMass in the event.
- Isaac Passett captured fourth in the hammer with a 176' 6" mark, making him No. 6 all-time at UMass in the event.
- Anthony Pizzano won the javelin, throwing 191' 10".
