UMass' Unger Earns Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Honors

AMHERST, Mass.- Freshman runner Erik Unger was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie team as announced by the conference Friday afternoon. Unger is just the third Minuteman to ever be named to the team.
In his freshman year, Unger scored five times, while being the second runner for UMass at the Atlantic 10 Championships (10/28) and the Paul Short Run (9/30). At the Atlantic 10 Championships, Unger came in 15th with a personal best 8K time of 24:37.1. His performance landed him on the All-Conference team for finishing in the top-15.
The Selwyn, Ontario native became the third Minuteman to be named All-Rookie behind Adam Thibodeau (2022) and Josh Rahn (2018). He is also the first athlete in UMass history to earn both All-Rookie and All-Conference in their career.
