Bell Leads Massachusetts Effort At Day One Of Tate Ramsden Invitational

The freshman won the 1-meter dive event on the first day of competition at Dartmouth College on Friday.
HANOVER, N.H. - The University of Massachusetts men's and women's swimming and diving teams completed 10 events on day one of the Tate Ramsden Invitational on Friday evening, recording seven top-three finishes in competition so far.

On The Podium
Jane Denenberg swam the 500-yard freestyle in 5:13.83, good for third place in the event. In the 50-yard freestyle, Maggie Desmond took third place in 24.13 seconds. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Ashley Calderon, Kirsten Ardis, Caroline Mahoney, and Maggie Desmond was the runner up in the event, recording a time of 1:36.68.
Jake Bailey clocked in a third place finish in the 500-yard freestyle, swimming a 4:41.95. In the 200-yard freestyle relay, the team of Grant Beebe, Juan Montori, Beau Bengston, and Sammy Quigg swam to third place in 1:26.96. In the 1-meter dive, Tommy Cotner recorded a 295.40, good for third place as well.

Andrew Bell was victorious in the 1-meter dive on the day, scoring a 320.25.
Team Results
After day one, the Minutemen trail Dartmouth, 66 to 27. The Minutewomen are leading Dartmouth, 49 to 44, and trailing Northeastern, 73 to 20.
