AMHERST, Mass. – The No. 25 University of Massachusetts field hockey team will host two contests this weekend, beginning on Friday afternoon against UMass Lowell (3 p.m.) at the Gladchuk Field Hockey Complex. The Minutewomen will then take on the University of New Hampshire at 12 p.m. at home.
Last Time Out
The Minutewomen went 1-1 this past weekend, registering a win against No. 23 Maine, 4-3. Jess Beech led the weekend with two goals, while Dempsey Campbell, Emily Crawford, and Mali Herberhold each notched a goal on the weekend.
Scouting the Riverhawks
UMass Lowell is currently 1-1 after a 3-0 shutout against Long Island University. Valerie Crory registered three points in the team's win. Crory leads the team in points this season, while Isabelle Halters, who also scored against LIU, leads the team in shots on goal so far this season. Mirthe Gans also logged a goal against LIU and has had 2 shots on goal this season.
Scouting the Wildcats
UNH is 2-0 on the season, scoring eight goals compared to opponents' three. Tasmin Cookman leads the team in both goals (4) and shots on goal (5), including one game-winning goal. Leah Glidden follows closely behind Cookman, having scored two goals and registered 4 shots on goal on the season.
Rookie of the Week
Massachusetts' own Mali Herberhold earned her first Atlantic 10 weekly award this past Monday when she was named the Rookie of the Week thanks to her game-winning overtime goal against No. 23 Maine this past Friday.

Massachusetts Field Hockey will travel to the University of Iowa on September 10 and 11 to take on the Providence Friars in a neutral site match (2 p.m.) and the University of Iowa Hawkeyes in an away match (2 p.m.).
