UMass Announces 2026 Field Hockey Schedule

AMHERST, Mass. – UMass field hockey team announced its 2026 schedule on Wednesday, with 18 games – seven home, 10 away and one neutral site – highlighted by six games against NCAA Tournament teams from last year. The Minutewomen open the season against one of those teams, Liberty, in a neutral-site matchup while UMass also faces three national quarterfinalists from a season ago.
 
Along with Liberty, UMass will play Harvard coming off a Final Four, along with quarterfinal teams UConn and Miami (OH). Boston University and New Hampshire are the other NCAA Tournament teams on the schedule.
 
The Minutewomen open the season for two games at the University of Maine. The weekend begins against Liberty on Saturday, Aug. 29 before facing host Maine on Sunday, Aug. 30.
 
The following weekend, UMass hosts reigning Patriot League champion Boston University on Friday, Sept. 4 before welcoming UMass Lowell on Sunday, Sept. 6.   
 
The following weekend features two more NCAA Tournament teams, traveling to Harvard on Friday, Sept. 11 to face the Crimson before hosting defending America East champion New Hampshire on Sunday, Sept. 13.
 
The MAC opener is set for Friday, Sept. 18 at home vs. Ohio, followed by three consecutive road games: at UAlbany (Sunday, Sept. 20), at Kent State (Friday, Sept. 25) and at Central Michigan (Sept. 27).
 
The Minutewomen host Miami (OH) on Friday, Oct. 2 in a rematch of last season's MAC Tournament Championship Game. Two days later, UMass will travel to another 2024 national quarterfinalist in UConn on Sunday, Oct. 4.
 
The following weekend features a home game on Friday. Oct. 9 against Appalachian State before a Sunday, Oct. 11 trip to Brown. That's the first of four consecutive road games, with trips to Ball State (Friday, Oct. 16), Bellarmine (Sunday, Oct. 18) and Longwood (Friday, Oct. 23).
 
The regular season concludes with a home matchup against James Madison on Friday, Oct. 30.
 
The MAC Tournament is set for the following week, Nov. 4-7 hosted by Miami (OH).
 
UMass will look to continue its recent success, having 33 wins over the last two seasons, which is fourth most in the nation. Two years ago, the Minutewomen advanced to the Final Four while last season, won the MAC regular season championship advanced to the tournament title game.
