UMass’ Rahn Wins Gold In 10K On Day One Of New England Championships

The senior picked up his first career New England title on Friday.
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – University of Massachusetts men's track and field senior Joshua Rahn won gold in the 10,000 meter run at the New England Championships on Friday, highlighting day one's action for the Minutemen. Through seven scored events UMass sits tied for 10th in the team standings out of 24 squads with 10 points.
Rahn ran 30 minutes, 27.84 seconds to the top spot in the 10K for his first career New England title.
Two more Minutemen advanced to Saturday's finals on the track as Lucas Honohan took sixth in the 400 meter dash prelims in 48.00 seconds, while Daniel Dubsky was seventh in the 400 meter hurdles prelims with a time of 54.63 seconds.
Action will resume for UMass on Saturday, May 14, with shot put at 11 a.m.
