Minutemen Set Two New All-Time Marks In 400m At BU Saturday

Honohan and Stoddard post the fastest indoor 400 times for the Minutemen since 2009.
BOSTON – University of Massachusetts men's track and field saw two of the best indoor 400 meter performances in program history at the Battle in Beantown at the Boston University Track & Tennis Center on Saturday.
Senior Lucas Honohan took fourth in the 400m with the third-fastest time in program history, 48.46, while classmate Colin Stoddard ran 48.62 seconds to sixth, the sixth-fastest time on UMass' all-time list. Both times were the first entries onto the list since Philip Weltman ran a 48.45 in the event in 2009.
Honohan and Stoddard helped UMass' 4x400 meter relay to a fourth-place showing along with freshmen Sean McKay and Alexander Laurent as the squad combined to run 3 minutes, 16.10 seconds.
Senior Coston O'Brien found himself in the top-eight in two events, placing fourth in weight throw (59'7") and eighth in the Jarred Rome shot put (52'0.5").
The Minutemen will be back in action next Saturday, January 29, at the Orange & Blue Invitational in Utica, New York.
