Harris Caps Collegiate Career At NCAA East Preliminary Championships

The graduate student finished 38th in high jump on Saturday in Jacksonville.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – University of Massachusetts women's track and field's Jada Harris wrapped up her collegiate career on Saturday, competing in high jump at the NCAA East Preliminary Championships at Hodges Stadium on the campus of the University of North Florida.

Harris was successful on her first attempt at 5'5 3/4" and on her third attempt at 5'7 3/4", tying for 38th in the field of 48 competitors.
 
The meet capped a decorated career for the Bridgeport, Connecticut native who was a 2019 USTFCCCA Honorable Mention All-American in outdoor high jump and 2019 and 2020 USTFCCCA Division-I All-Academic Team selection.
 
She ends her UMass career holding four school records—60 meter hurdles, indoor long jump, outdoor high jump and 100 meter hurdles, and ranks in the program's top-five all time in three more events.
 
Harris was a 10-time Atlantic 10 individual champion, amassed 14 A-10 medals, was a four-time New England champion and collected a silver medal in high jump at the ECAC Championships. She earned three Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference honors in her five years at UMass and was named the women's Most Outstanding Field Performer at the 2020 Indoor Atlantic 10 Championships after totaling 28 individual points to help the Minutewomen to the team title.
 
The two-year captain was named the 2020 UMass Female Spring Scholar-Athlete and was the Atlantic 10's nominee for NCAA Woman of the Year in 2020.
