Sharpe Inks Contract with Atlanta Falcons

Former Massachusetts wide receiver enters his fifth NFL season in 2021
ATLANTA – The Atlanta Falcons on Tuesday announced that the organization has signed wide receiver and Massachusetts football alumnus Tajae Sharpe (2012-15) to a one-year contract. Sharpe arrives in Atlanta ahead of his fifth NFL season.
Sharpe has appeared in 51 games (29 starts) since being drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the fifth round (140th overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft. He spent 2016-19 with the Titans, before appearing in four games during 2020 with the Minnesota Vikings and finishing the season on the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad. In Sharpe's career, he owns 92 receptions for 1,167 yards (12.7 yards/catch) and eight touchdowns.
A native of Piscataway, New Jersey, Sharpe played in 47 games as a Minuteman and tallied 3,486 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns via 277 catches. Sharpe holds the single-season (111) and career (277) program receptions records, while sharing the single-game (15) mark and ranking second all-time in receiving yards. He was named to the Biletnikoff Award Watch List (2014, '15), First Team All-MAC (2014, '15) and an ECAC All-Star (2014).
