Massachusetts Football Inks 21 On Early Signing Day

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts football signed 21 student-athletes as part of Wednesday's early signing period to comprise one of the highest ranked classes in program history.
Since his arrival on campus last December, head coach Joe Harasymiak has now signed 10 of the 20 recruits in program history (FBS era).
The new additions include defensive backs David Chiavegato (Walpole, Mass.), Terron Johnson (Harlem, N.Y.), Ted Mondesir (Hamilton, N.J.), Kareem Pruitt (Lansing, Mich.) and Corey Warner (Louisville, Ky.), defensive linemen CJ Amobi (Upper Darby, Pa.), Robert Ekins (Butler, N.J.), Samuel Mulbah (Harrisburg, Pa.) and Donovan Murphy (Glenarden, Md.), kicker Seamus McIntyre (Concord, N.H.), linebacker Moritz Strempel (Cologne, Germany), offensive linemen Will McNamara (Colpoy's Bay, Ontario) and Ben Noome (Redding, Conn.), quarterback Aedan McCarthy (Bluffton, S.C.), running backs TK Davis (Washington, D.C.) and Justin Lewis (Santa Ana, Calif.), tight end Matthew Tybor (Tolland, Conn.) and wide receivers Drew Alsup (Groveland, Mass.), Tavian Dashiell (Salisbury, Md.), David Moore Jr. (West Orange, N.J.) and Kai Owens (Carpentersville, Ill.).
Massachusetts football will continue to add to the roster through the early signing window, the January transfer portal window, and the additional signing day on February 4, 2026.
Drew Alsup | WR | Groveland, Mass. | 5'9" | 175 lbs.
- A wide receiver at Williston Northampton School
- Earned First Team All-NEPSAC honors at Williston
- Also played defensive back in addition to wide receiver
- Helped Williston to a 7-3 record and to a championship game appearance as the No. 2 seed in its class
- Played at Central Catholic before joining Williston for his post graduate year
- A MVC First Team All-Conference selection in 2025
CJ Amobi | DL | Upper Darby, Pa. | 6'3" | 235 lbs.
- A 247Sports three-star recruit out of Monsignor Bonner High School
- Ranked as 247Sports' No. 56 recruit in the state of Pennsylvania
- A 2025 First Team All-Catholic member
- Totaled 50-plus tackles as a senior
- Had one interception and a fumble recovery as a senior
- As a junior, accumulated 70 tackles, including 43 solo
- Registered 23 tackles for loss and eight sacks to go along with three pass breakups and a touchdown as a junior
- Aided team to a PIAA 4A State Football Championship during junior season
David Chiavegato | DB | Walpole, Mass. | 5'11" | 190 lbs.
- A 247Sports three-star recruit out of Xaverian Brothers High School
- Ranked as 247Sports' No. 18 recruit in the state of Massachusetts
- A two-year varsity letterwinner and was a senior captain
- Helped Xaverian to the 2025 Massachusetts Div. I championship game, which will be played on Saturday at Gillette Stadium
- Chiavegato and Xaverian also won state championships in 2023 and 2024
- Totaled 1,317 yards and 15 touchdowns as a junior
- Also had 48 tackles, two interceptions and five pass breakups as a junior
- Registered 10 total tackles, including seven solo, and 2.0 tackles per game and added two interceptions as a sophomore
Tavian Dashiell | WR | Salisbury, Md. | 6'0" | 165 lbs.
- A wide receiver out of Parkside High School
- Named a 2025 Bayside Conference First Team selection and was the conference's Offensive Player of the Year
- Served as a team captain as a senior
- Totaled 1,331 yards receiving on 67 catches and 20 touchdowns
- Registered 57 receptions for 1,103 yards, averaging 110.3 yards per game as a senior
- Had a career-long 88-yard reception as a senior and added a 74-yard punt return
- Had 193 yards receiving on eight receptions as a sophomore with one touchdown
- Also played lacrosse
TK Davis | RB | Washington, D.C. | 5'10" | 190 lbs.
- An On3, 247Sports, and ESPN.com three-star recruit out of Archbishop Carroll High School
- Ranked as the No. 9 recruit in D.C. according to On3
- Ranked as ESPN's No. 11 recruit and 247Sports' No. 12 recruit in D.C.
- A two-time Player of the Game, winning the honor twice in 2023
- Totaled 1,009 rushing yards on 106 carries as a senior, adding 10 touchdowns on the ground
- Totaled 874 rushing yards on 151 carries as a junior, while adding nine touchdowns on the ground
- Also had 12 catches for 70 yards as a junior
- Rushed for 1,009 yards on 160 carries, including a career-long 81-yard run as a sophomore
- Totaled nine touchdowns and rushed for 100-plus yards in four contests as a sophomore
- Had nine catches for 130 yards, including a 40-yard reception as a sophomore
- Also posted seven tackles on the defensive side, with four solo
Robert Ekins | DL | Butler, N.J. | 6'2" | 260 lbs.
- An On3 and 247Sports three-star recruit out of Don Bosco Prep
- Is 247Sports' No. 53 ranked recruit in the state of New Jersey
- Ranked as On3's No. 54 recruit in the state of New Jersey
- Made 41 total tackles and 6.5 sacks
- Had 37 total tackles, including 19 solo as a senior
- Registered 13.5 tackles for loss and 6.0 sacks as a senior

Terron Johnson | DB | Harlem, N.Y. | 5'11" |175 lbs.

Justin Lewis | RB | Santa Ana, Calif. | 5'10" | 200 lbs.

- Rushed for 564 yards on 109 carries as a senior, averaging 5.2 yards per carry
- Added six touchdowns and one reception on the year
- Turned in a three-touchdown performance in Mater Dei's win over JSerra Catholic

- Helped Mater Dei to an 8-3 record on the season, playing in Southern California's Trinity League
