Minutewomen to race in five competitive weekends
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts rowing and head coach Eric Carcich announced the program's Spring 2021 schedule on Thursday.
Due to the ever-evolving nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, race dates, times and opponents are subject to change. Any updates to the schedule will be announced on UMassAthletics.com as well as via the official UMass rowing social media accounts.
In accordance with UMass' COVID-19 protocols, all home events will be closed to spectators this Spring. The decision was made following consultation with local public health and university officials and in accordance with the Governor's Executive Order prohibiting large capacity venues from opening to the public.
Massachusetts begins the slate on March 27, welcoming Marist to the home confines of the Connecticut River. From there, focus turns to an April 10 competition at Overpeck Park in New Jersey alongside crews from George Washington, Marist, Manhattan, Rhode Island and Saint Joseph's.
Back-to-back races in Boston on the Charles River then await the Minutewomen. The squad will race against Boston University and UConn on April 17, then return to the Charles on May 1 to face Boston College. That will be UMass' final tune-up before the Atlantic 10 Championships, scheduled for May 15 on the Cooper River in Camden, New Jersey.
The best way to keep track of any schedule changes is to follow the official UMass rowing social media accounts as well as bookmarking the team's schedule page.
