Women’s Soccer Run Ends In A-10 Championship To Saint Louis

Ashley Lamond scored to tie the game before Saint Louis scored three consecutive down the stretch.
UMass had the game's first chance in the 17th-minute off the first corner for either side as Olivia Gouldsbury sent in a ball to Ava Jouvenel for an attempt on goal that was headed off the line by a Billiken defender.
Saint Louis attempted seven shots on the opening half to UMass' two, scoring their first with 17 minutes remaining in the half after an initial shot attempt hit the crossbar and found the foot of Hannah Friedrich at the far post to give the Billkens a 1-0 advantage.
Ashley Lamond tied it at 1-1 in the 54th-minute with her team-leading eighth goal of the year. Bella Recinos set up the goal scoring opportunity with a ball through to Lamond, who sent a left-footed shot on the first touch around the keeper and into goal.
The Billikens went on to score three consecutive goals to end the match, first to go ahead 2-1 in the 61st-minute on a Lyndsey Heckel goal. Emily Gaebe scored in the 68th-minute before Abbie Miller found the back of the net in the 75th-minute go put Saint Louis ahead 4-1.
Four Minutewomen were named to the Atlantic 10 All-Championship team as Fiona Kane, Ava Jouvenel, Recinos and Lamond were tabbed to the all-tournament squad.
