BOSTON – University of Massachusetts men's cross country closed out its 2021 campaign at the NCAA Northeast Regional in Franklin Park on Friday. The Minutemen placed 23rd out of 35 teams with a score of 674, while Syracuse led the field with a score of 51.
Michael Norberg led the way for UMass in 116th overall with a time of 33 minutes, 12 seconds, while Nicholas Valianti was next to cross, taking 125th in the field of 234 competitors at 33 minutes, 22 seconds.
Surafel Mengist claimed 144th as the Minutemen's No. 3 runner, completing the 10K course in 33 minutes, 42 seconds. Loeden Rodrigues placed 150th overall (33:48) and Robert Carew completed the UMass top-five in 156th (34:00).
