Men’s Cross Country Places 11th At New England Championships

Rahn leads the Minutemen in 35th overall.
BOSTON – University of Massachusetts men's cross country placed 11th at the New England Championships in Franklin Park on Saturday with a score of 323. Dartmouth took home the team title with a score of 60 among the 24-squad field.
Josh Rahn was the top finisher for the Minutemen, taking 35th with a time of 25:41.1. Nicholas Valianti followed in 50th, completing the 8K race in 25 minutes, 57.9 seconds. Benjamin Burgess was the third Minuteman to cross the finish, clocking in at 26 minutes, 32.4 seconds to take 70th in the field of 161 competitors.
Matthew George came in as UMass' No. 4 runner with a time of 26:32.4 and rounded out the Minutemen's top-five with a time of 26 minutes, 50.7 seconds, good for 93rd.
UMass will return to action next Saturday, Oct. 16, with a trip to Princeton, New Jersey on the docket for the Princeton Invitational.
