UMass Wins Gold At Head Of The Riverfront Regatta

The Minutewomen raced crews in both the Open Women’s Eight event in the morning, and in the Open Women’s Four in the afternoon.
Hartford, Conn. - University of Massachusetts women's opened the Fall racing season this Sunday at the Head of the Riverfront Regatta in Hartford, Connecticut. UMass raced crews in both the Open Women's Eight event in the morning and in the Open Women's Four in the afternoon, with many athletes doubling up for each event. Â
The crew of coxswain Natalie DiLeo ('22), Mary Koelsch ('22), Barbora Hlachova ('22), Alexis Harvell ('24), Grace White ('23), Cielo Jacuzzi ('25), Michelle Mulcahey ('25) , Ashley Picard ('24), and Liv Iwanicki ('24) raced to a first-place finish in the Open Women's 8+. The Minutewomen crews also tabbed 8th and 22nd place finishes in the morning event. Â
In the afternoon, coxswain Ali Kolaga ('25), Cielo Jacuzzi ('25), Grainne Flanagan ('24), Kelly Houston ('23), and Kelli Jarvoja ('25) earned the top-finish for the UMass women in the Open Women's 4+ with a fourth-place finish. In the same event, UMass also earned 5th, 8th, and 15th place.Â

The Minutewomen have returned to training on the Connecticut, and race again at the Head of the Charles Regatta on October 22nd - 24th.Â
