Rodgers Named To NFL All-Rookie Team By PFWA

Pro Football Writers of America recognize UMass alumnus Isaiah Rodgers following stellar year
AMHERST, Mass. - University of Massachusetts football alumnus Isaiah Rodgers '19 earned selection to the Pro Football Writers of America (PFWA) National Football League (NFL) All-Rookie Team, as announced on Tuesday. Rodgers, who competed at UMass from 2016-19, recently completed his first year in the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts and finished the campaign as one of the top return specialists in the league.
Rodgers, who won all-rookie for his success as a kickoff return specialist, fielded 24 kicks for 692 yards over 13 games played. He averaged 28.8 yards per return with a long of 101 yards and one kick return touchdown, and was nominated for the 2021 NFL Pro Bowl. A sixth round draft pick of Indy in 2020, Rodgers was Indianapolis' primary kickoff return specialist on the year with more kickoff returns (24) and yards (692) than all other Colts players combined (19 returns, 419 yards).
Rodgers was an impact performer for Massachusetts on defense and special teams from 2016-19. He concluded his UMass playing days with program records of 99 kickoff returns and 2,338 kickoff return yards as well as 188 tackles, 35 pass breakups and 11 interceptions on defense. He won Pro Football Focus (PFF) All-America First Team for his 1,295 kickoff return yards in 2019.
