Ronnie DeGray III scored 21 points and added six boards in a win over Rhode Island on Wednesday.

AMHERST, Mass. - University of Massachusetts men's basketball freshman Ronnie DeGray III was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week as announced by the league on Monday afternoon. DeGray averaged 14.5 points per game to go along with eight rebounds while helping the Minutemen to wins over Rhode Island and Fordham.

DeGray posted a career-high 21 points with six rebounds, three assists and two steals in a 80-78 win over Rhode Island in overtime on Wednesday at the Mullins Center. The forward knocked down a key triple in the win over the Rams, giving the Minutemen a one point lead with just under two minutes remaining in overtime. The freshman followed up that performance by hauling in a career-high 10 rebounds on Sunday at Fordham in addition to eight points and a pair of assists. DeGray finished the week shooting 61-percent from the field.

The Minutemen are set to return to action on Wednesday inside the Mullins Center as they play host to Saint Louis at 6 p.m.
