What does a normal day look like for you around UMass and with the women's basketball program?
"I'm the first person you see when you walk into the basketball offices. I guess you could say I'm the greeter to all that come in the office. I answer the phones, sort the mail, and handle the day-to-day things that come up around the basketball team. A majority of my job is handling travel expenses for the coaching staff. Recently, I've also been helping out in the business office. I really like the people that I work with in our program."
What do you enjoy about UMass?
"Definitely the students and the student-athletes. I've made some good friends, and some that I stay in contact with even after moving on from UMass. It's nice to see where people have gone to, especially the assistant coaches that are now head coaches, administrators and others. It's been great."
You've been around UMass basketball for quite some time. What's it like watching the student-athletes arrive as freshmen, then graduate and do amazing things after UMass?
"I keep in touch with a handful of the former players. A lot have done great things and it's really fun to watch. It's funny, because they used to come in the office and chat with you, and now they've grown up to be moms, doctors, lawyers, teachers and so much more. It's amazing to see what they've done. They're just so fun to be around."
Do you have any favorite memories over the years?
"Back when I first started, UMass went to the NCAA Tournament in 1996 and 1998. I got to travel with the team for those trips. My husband and I also traveled with the team to San Francisco and Stanford in 2000. That was a great trip. But the biggest memories are the friends I've made over the years and kept in touch with."
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
"I like to do a little bit of gardening. I like to travel–really enjoy Disney World and definitely the beach. Just keeping busy and walking my dog too. He's a lot of work!"
What is something the average person wouldn't know about you?
"I have three siblings. All three, myself and my parents are all left-handed. Everyone. Both of my sons are left-handed as well. I always thought that was pretty cool."
