Menโs Track & Field Picks Up Silver Medal In 4x800 On Day Two Of A-10 Championships

The team of Militello, Ross, Santos and Rijo earned the second relay medal of the weekend for the Minutemen.
KINGSTON, R.I. โ University of Massachusetts men's track and field saw its 4x800 meter relay take home silver on the final day of the Atlantic 10 Championships on Sunday at Rhode Island's Mackal Fieldhouse. The Minutemen finished sixth out of 10 teams with 58 points, while URI won the meet with 180 points.

Luke Militello, Connor Ross, Nicholas Santos and Herlin Rijo combined to run 7 minutes, 44.88 seconds in the 4x800, UMass' second relay medal of the weekend.

Individually on the track on Sunday, sophomore Lucas Honohan was fourth in 400m at 49.74 seconds and junior Colin Stoddard was sixth with a time of 50.34.

Jordan Howard scored in two events, as he captured fifth in 200 meter dash (22.16) and took seventh in 60 meter dash (6.97). ย Michael Cuthbert followed just behind Howard in 200m, placing sixth with a time of 22.28 seconds.

Ross ran 2 minutes, 30.69 seconds to fifth in 1,000 meter and senior Noah Kortkamp was eighth in 60 meter hurdles at 8.51 seconds.

Junior Samuel Darkwa, Jr. was the lone scorer in the field events for the Minutemen on day two, landing eighth in triple jump with a personal-best mark of 45 feet, 1.5 inches.
