Massachusetts Tennis Bested By Michigan State

HANOVER, N.H. – Massachusetts tennis concluded its weekend in Hanover, New Hampshire, at Dartmouth College with a 4-0 loss in a neutral-site match with Michigan State on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Minutewomen fall to 3-9 on the season while Michigan State improves to 7-3 overall.

Jasmin Tripathy and Jovana Bogicevic provided Massachusetts with a win in doubles play as the duo bested Mary Lewis and Jennifer Timotin on the No. 2 court 6-4. However, the Spartans took the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3.

Michigan State claimed the match with singles victories at No. 3, No. 4 and No. 6. Nicole Stephens took the decisive match at No. 3 with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Bogicevic.

The Minutewomen continue their season against Brown at the Bay Road Tennis Club in Amherst, Massachusetts, on Sun., March 1. Doubles play begins at 1 p.m.
