Women’s Track And Field Completes Day One Of Black And Gold Challenge

ORLANDO, Fla. – Eight members of the University of Massachusetts women's track and field program were in action on Friday opening up the Black And Gold Challenge at UCF.
 
Sophomore Danielle Notarfrancesco placed ninth in hammer throw with a mark of 163 feet, 06 inches and classmate Lauren LaDere was 22nd at 114 feet, 4 inches.
 
Sophomore Ivana Nyemeck led the way for the Minutewomen in long jump, placing eighth with a leap of 17 feet, 11 inches. Junior Danielle Reicherts landed 13th at 17 feet, 4.75 inches and sophomore Kira Kopec came in 15th with a mark of 16 feet, 11.25 inches.
 
On the track, freshman Alexina Hurley placed 11th in a field of 42 runners in the 1,500m at 4 minutes, 52.23 seconds, Colette O'Leary was 14th (4:55.14) and Grace Pettengill was 20th (5:01.12).
 
 The Minutewomen will wrap up their trip to Florida with Day Two of the Black And Gold Challenge on Saturday, March 16, beginning at 10 a.m.
