Parking Advisory
Fans attending Friday's game vs. Michigan are advised that the contest is scheduled in conjunction with Campus Move-In Day. Those attending the day's contests are asked to allocate extra time in arriving as traffic at UMass and across the town of Amherst will be heavy.

34826 — Fans attending Friday's game should park in Lot 22, right

Arriving on campus via the Route 116 freeway is encouraged as a means of avoiding the heaviest areas of congestion. Once on campus, parking will be limited due to move-in operations and fans should park in Lot 22, located a short walk from the Gladchuk Field Hockey Complex.

Friday Night Lights
Friday's matchup with Michigan marks the latest start time for a game played at the Gladchuk Field Hockey Complex, which opened ahead of the 2015 season. UConn visits the Pioneer Valley on Fri., Sept. 7 for Youth Night in a game that will also begin at 6 p.m.

Recap in a Minute
Massachusetts opened up the campaign on Fri., Aug. 24 at the University of New Hampshire's Wildcat Classic. After dropping the weekend's opening contest to the host Wildcats, 3-2, UMass bounced back with a 2-1 topping of in-state foe Northeastern on Sun., Aug. 26.

Junior forward and international transfer Antonet Louw accounted for all four Minutewomen goals on the weekend and was rewarded with a nod as the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week.

Preseason Picks
Three Minutewomen in junior Sophie de Jonge plus sophomores Lucy Cooper and Georgie McTear were named to the Atlantic 10 Preseason All-Conference Team on Mon., Aug. 20. In addition, UMass was slotted second in the A-10 Coaches' Poll, receiving one first place vote and trailing only defending league champion Saint Joseph's as the favorite to claim the conference's regular season title.

Welcome to the Pioneer Valley
Massachusetts welcomes eight newcomers to the squad in 2018, including six freshmen and two international transfers. Collectively, the eight newest Minutewomen round out a group that together represents seven U.S. states and seven other countries.

In addition to the eight new faces, fans will recognize UMass alumna Shauna Rankin-Byrne on the sideline as the former defensive standout has rejoined the program as a volunteer assistant coach. The native of Lebanon, New Hampshire was part of three Atlantic 10 Championship teams (2013, 2015, 2016) and also was a member of the squad that reached the NCAA Elite Eight in 2013.
