Men’s Track In Action On Friday Night At Ocean State Invitational

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Several members of the University of Massachusetts men's track and field squad were in action on Friday night at the unscored Ocean State Invitational. Members of the Minutemen competed in the 800 meter run, the mile and hammer throw.
Sophomore Nicholas Santos was UMass' top finisher in the 800 meter run, crossing the line 21st with a time of 1 minute, 55.71 seconds.
Sophomore Dawson Bathgate was 27th in the mile at 4 minutes, 18.14 seconds to lead the Minutemen contingent.
In hammer throw, junior Evan Burton claimed third with a toss of 137 feet, three inches, while freshman Coston O'Brien followed in fourth at 133 feet, 7 inches.
The Minutemen will be back in action tomorrow morning, April 14, with day two of the Ocean State Invitational getting under way at 11 a.m.
