Famiglietti’s 16th Place Finish Highlights NCAA Northeast Regional For Minutemen

UMass placed 19th out of 34 in the team standings with 480 points.
AMHERST, N.Y. – Senior Michael Famiglietti's 16th place finish highlighted University of Massachusetts men's cross country's trip to the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships on Friday. The Minutemen landed 19th in the team standings out of 34 schools.
After leading UMass with an All-Conference performance at the Atlantic 10 Championships two weeks ago, Famiglietti was the top finisher for the Minutemen for a second straight meet, completing the 10K in 32 minutes, 25.9 seconds.
Freshman Josh Rahn was the next UMass runner to cross the finish, taking 82nd in a field of 244 runners with a time of 34 minutes, 45.1 seconds.
Junior Erik Engstrom was third for the Minutemen and 114th overall, clocking in at 35 minutes, 13.5 seconds. Classmate Kendall Westhoff was right behind him in 115th at 35 minutes, 14.6 seconds.
Freshman Nasir Gibson rounded out the UMass scorers in 156th, completing the course in 36 minutes, 00.1 seconds.
