Men's XC's Famiglietti Earns Pair Of Postseason Honors

The senior was named to the A-10 Academic All-Conference Team and earned USTFCCCA NCAA Division I Cross Country All-Region honors.
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts men's cross country senior Michael Famiglietti has earned a pair of postseason accolades after wrapping up his cross country career last Friday at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships. For his top-25 finish at that meet, Famiglietti earned USTFCCA Division I Cross Country All-Region honors and was also recognized for his work in the classroom as am member of the Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference Team.
After leading UMass with an All-Conference performance at the Atlantic 10 Championships in 13th overall, Famiglietti was the top finisher for the Minutemen for a second straight meet, completing the 10K Northeast Regional in 32 minutes, 25.9 seconds to take 16th in the field of 244 runners to capture his all-region honor.
The Tewksbury, Massachusetts native also placed 10th at the New England Championships this fall to help the Minutemen take home the team tile at that meet, while placing fifth overall at the Minuteman Invitational in his season debut.
Famiglietti, an accounting major, is a five-time Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor roll member, a four-time Dean's List student and is member of Chi Alpha Sigma and UMass' Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
