Stat of the Week
UMass and Richmond currently stand as the Atlantic 10's top two winningest programs and have captured the league's postseason crown more than any other team. Between 1996 and 2016, each Atlantic 10 Tournament was won by either the Minutewomen or Spiders, clinching a berth in the NCAA Tournament each respective season.

Similarly, every A-10 regular season title from 1999-2015 was won outright by UMass or Richmond, with the exception of 2007 when the Minutewomen finished atop the conference with Temple.

Roll The Highlight Film
Freshman Sophie Johnson scored her first collegiate goal in the win over Davidson on Fri., Sept. 28, notching a highlight-reel tally in the process. In the 55th minute, Johnson dribbled from the left along the baseline into the circle before her initial shot was knocked up into the air. As it began its descent back to the pitch, Johnson batted the ball over goalkeeper Sarah Zeszotarski and into the cage.

Saving the Day
Freshman goalkeeper Johanna von dem Borne has seen the majority of minutes throughout her first campaign in Amherst, averaging 6.83 stops per game. That figure enters the weekend ranked third in the Atlantic 10 and 13th nationally.

Von dem Borne has turned in four outings of 10-plus saves, most recently an 11-save day at No. 16 Saint Joseph's on the rainy afternoon of Sun., Sept. 23. The native of Essen, Germany has been backed up in the cage by redshirt freshman Megan Davies.

Goals Are Always Fun In Pairs
Junior forward Antonet Louw currently leads the Minutewomen with 28 points on 13 goals plus two assists. Louw has inked the box score in seven different matches, caging two shots in all but one of those seven contests.

The last Minutewoman to log six multi-goal performances in a season was Brooke Sabia in 2013, en route to a 20-goal campaign. Since 2002 when computerized statistics begin at UMass, no player has accomplished such a feat in their first season donning the Maroon and White.

Next Up
The Minutewomen return to the Gladchuk Field Hockey Complex for a Fri., Oct. 12 game against Saint Francis. Start time is set for 3 p.m.
