Head of the Charles Concludes For Rowing

BOSTON – University of Massachusetts rowing closed out the 53rd Head of the Charles Regatta on Sunday on a high note, wrapping up a full weekend of competition. The Minutewomen opened the morning with Aiste Balciunaite rowed in the Women's Club 1x, before the boat of Anne Madeiros (Cox), Isabel Grant, Meghan Ouellette, Hannah White and Zoe Hill took on the Women's Championship 4+.

Balciunaite rowed across the finish line with a time of 20:29.2 to claim third place and solidify the top performance in the race by a collegiate rower. She was less than a second behind Julia Rigothi for second and just short of four seconds removed from first.

In the 4+ UMass turned in an 18:22.2 mark for 10th place, just more than a second faster than conference rival Rhode Island.

The Minutewomen travel to the Head of the Fish Regatta in Saratoga Springs, New York on Sat., Oct. 28.
