Strong First Day At 53rd Head of Charles Regatta

Bundy and du Toit second in collegiate subcategory of 2x.

BOSTON – University of Massachusetts rowing kicked off the 53rd Head of the Charles Regatta on Saturday, highlighting the day with a second place performance in the collegiate subcategory of the Women's Championship 2x. Daniella du Toit and Grace Bundy competed in the race for the Maroon and White turning in a time of 19:19.5, seventh overall and just one second behind 2017 NCAA Champion Washington.
 
UMass head coach Jim Dietz also took part in the Men's Veteran 1x, placing 14th overall (20:55.2). Dietz has now been a part of 52 of 53 iterations of the Head of the Charles.

The Minutewomen are back on the water for Day 2 of the Head of the Charles on Sunday morning. Aiste Balciunaite will row in the Women's Club 1x on Sunday at 8:31 a.m., while the Women's Championship 4x boat of Anne Madeiros (Cox), Isabel Grant, Meghan Ouellette, Hannah White and Zoe Hill will compete at 1:30 p.m.
