Rowing Finishes Fall Strong At Princeton Chase

PRINCETON, N.J. -- The Massachusetts rowing team closed out the fall portion of the schedule with a strong showing at the Princeton Chase. The Varsity 8 placed 15th in a loaded field of 62 boats.Â
"It was great to have four eights down in Princeton to race in the Princeton Chase as our end of Fall regatta," head coach Eric Carcich said. "This opportunity gave us the chance to race some of the top teams in the country while measuring our speed against a field of 64 crews. As a team, we flashed the best speed we have seen here at UMass, and we know we're exactly on the track we need to be on this year. We have the athletes in place, culturally we are better than we have ever been and we can't wait to get back to work as we build towards the first MAC championship in May."
The Varsity 8 improved 18 spots from last year, while the Second Varsity 8 improved 15 spots.
