PHILADELPHIA - University of Massachusetts rowing repeated as the Dad Vail Regatta champions Saturday afternoon as the squad took home first place in three key grand finales, the Varsity 8+, Junior Varsity 8+ and Varsity 4+.

The all-around effort netted the Minutewomen 28 team points, the most among women's programs. It placed the Maroon and White fourth in the overall standings behind Drexel (45), Michigan (31) and Delaware (30), each of which fielded a men's team for racing while Drexel and Delaware also fielded women's entries. UMass also won the women's team title in 2014 and 2015.

Massachusetts won the Evelyn Bergman (Varsity 8+), Maragaret McNiff (Varsity 4+) and Coleman D. Boylan (Junior Varsity 8+) trophies, which secured the Minutewomen the Dad Vail Regatta Women's Title for the third consecutive season.

The V8+ won its grand final with a time of 6:54.484 while the Varsity 4+ reached the line in 7:54.639. The Junior Varsity 8+ added the third trophy-worthy finish of the day with its 7:26.063 finish. UMass also swept those three trophies in 2015 and took the Evelyn Bergman Trophy during the 2014 holding of the Dad Vail Regatta as well.

The Varsity Pair (2-) boat also reached the final for event and took home silver with a 9:12.518 mark. Caroline Garvey concluded UMass participation in the Dad Vail Regatta with a sixth place finish in the Single (1x).

In the semifinals, the Varsity 8+, Varsity 4+ and Pair entries advanced to their respective grand finale races via first place finishes.

The Varsity 8+ earned a time of 6:38.491, which outpaced second place Duquesne by six seconds. The Varsity 4+ followed with first in 7:29.193 and bested the race runners-up from Lafayette by just over two seconds.

Hannah McCollough and Leanne Ondreicka added another first place semifinal finish in the 2- race as the duo finished in 8:08.763.
