Men’s Swimming Finishes Fourth at Terrier Invitational

Six Minutemen post top-10 finishes on final day of competition.
BOSTON – Paced by a pair of third-place finishes from Kellen Gray and Ryan Pedrick, the UMass men's swimming team finished fourth overall at the Terrier Invitational on Sunday evening.
Kellen Gray and Ryan Pedrick highlighted the top finishes with a pair of third-place efforts in the 200 back and 100 free, respectively. Gray took third in 1:48.06, while Pedrick turned in a time of 45.88 seconds.
Harry Ortof placed seventh in the 1,650 free with a time of 15 minutes, 59.50 seconds – that time was good enough to rank 10th all-time in program history.
Al Madden, Ben Sloan, and Owen Wright rounded out the top 10 finishers for the day. Madden swam 2:06.36 in the 200 breast for ninth place, while Sloan went 1:51.78 in the 200 fly for 10th overall. Wright placed 10th in the 100 free with a time of 46.18 seconds.
The Minutemen are off until the spring semester begins in January. The next competition will be a home dual meet against Bryant on January 14. The UMass divers will compete at the Bucknell Invitational (Dec. 2-4) to close out their fall semester competition.
