August 13, 2015 | Women's Soccer
University of Massachusetts women’s soccer Head Coach Ed Matz announced on Thursday that Sydney Stoll, a former forward for the Minutewomen, has been hired as an assistant coach. Stoll, who returned to her alma mater as a volunteer assistant last fall, played at UMass from 2006-10.
“I am thrilled to bring Syd back to UMass,” said Matz. “She spent the last few years with one of the best club programs in the United States. She brings a great deal of knowledge into our program and really rounds out our staff.”
Stoll appeared in a total of 58 matches over her career, starting 48, including all 19 in 2009 after sitting out the 2008 campaign with an injury. The Dedham, Mass., native compiled 33 career points on 14 goals and five assists, including four game winners.
Stoll posted a career-best 15 points on six goals and three assists over 11 games in 2007. She graduated in 2011 with a degree in psychology.
