UMass' Deveau Fourth After Day One Of Heptathlon Competition

OTTAWA, Ontario - UMass women's track & field rising sophomore Bridget Deveau opened up action in the heptathlon at Canadian Combined Events Championship on Saturday, part of the 2015 Capital Cup, which is being held in Ottawa at the Terry Fox Athletics Facility.
Through four events after day one, Deveau currently sits fourth with 2,771 points. She collected 769 points in the 100m hurdles (15.56), 736 points in the high jump (5'3"), 693 points in the 200m (27.23) and 573 points in the shot put (35'0.25"), placing second in the field of seven in that event.
The Halifax, Nova Scotia, native will wrap up competition on Sunday, June 21, with the long jump at 11:00 a.m., javelin at 12:30 p.m. and 800m at 2:00 p.m.
