Rowing Set For Meet With Boston College And MIT

AMHERST, Mass. - The Massachusetts rowing team returns to competition Saturday, April 4 when they travel to Boston for a dual meet with Boston College and MIT on the Charles River course. Races are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
Coming off a modified race with Rhode Island last weekend in which UMass took first place in the Varsity 4+ event, the Minutewomen return to the Charles River for the first time since mid-October, when they competed in the Head of the Charles regatta. Saturday's race also marks the first time since spring 2014 that the Minutewomen have competed against either the Eagles or Engineers.
On March 29 the Minutewomen competed against Boston College as part of the Yankee Cup with URI. In the race, the Minutewomen earned gold in the Varsity 8+, Varsity 4+ and the second Varsity 4+. Complete results from last years race vs. Boston College can be found here:
On April 19, UMass competed against MIT as part of a four-team meet in Boston with Bates and Radcliffe. In that event, UMass placed first in both the Varsity 8 and Varsity 4 races. Complete results from last years race vs. Massachusetts Institute of Technology can be found here:
Checking the Forecast: Saturday's forecast for Boston calls for morning rain showers with temperatures reaching 50 degrees fehrenheit. In the afternoon, skies are supposed to remain partly cloudy. Winds are expected to top out around 25 miles per hour.

Recent News: On Saturday, March 28, UMass traveled to Kingston, Rhode Island where they captured first in the Varsity 4+ race. The Minutewomen opted to do 4' pieces instead of the complete 2000 meter race Saturday because the first 500 meters of the course remained frozen.
