UMass Baseball's LeBlanc Collects Pair of Weekly Honors

AMHERST, Mass. - After helping UMass baseball sweep Dayton to open the Atlantic 10 schedule this past weekend, senior Conor LeBlanc was honored as both the Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week and Co-UMass Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Monday. It marks the first career A-10 recognition for LeBlanc and the first weekly awards for the Minutemen this season.
LeBlanc tossed eight shutout innings and earned the victory in game one of UMass' A-10 series at Dayton, combining for a 5-0 shutout win over the Flyers. The lefthander allowed just two hits in the contest, a single and a double, and fanned seven batters while walking only two. Opposing hitters batted just .077 against him on the day.
The series sweep, UMass' first on the road vs. a conference foe since 2007, put the Minutemen in sole possession of first place in the Atlantic 10 standings. The 3-0 mark is UMass' best start to conference play since 1998.
