Two Boats Represent the Maroon and White at Princeton Chase

MERCER, N.J. - UMass rowing capped off its jam-packed race weekend on Sunday in Mercer, New Jersey at the Princeton Chase. UMass sent two boats to compete in the Varsity 8+ against a field of 34 clubs and 295 entries from Princeton, Yale, Cornell, Wisconsin, MIT and Syracuse, to name a few.
The UMass A boat finished the three-mile course with a time of 15:47.71, good for 25th of 65. The UMass B boat crossed the line in 46th place with a time of 16:28.91, just one second behind the Boston University Lightweight B boat. Virginia and Brown dominated the competition with first and second place finishes, respectively, just .06 seconds apart. The Yale A boat took the bronze medal with a time of 14:51.93.
