AMHERST, Mass. - Women's soccer junior forward and co-captain Jackie Bruno has been selected as the UMass Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Monday. Bruno will be recognized at the UMass Sports Luncheon on Wednesday, Sept. 10, which will be held from 12-1:15 pm in the Massachusetts Room (3rd Floor) of the Mullins Center.

A buffet lunch will be available at the cost of $14.00 per-person and parking is available for free in the lot directly behind the Mullins Center. Guest speakers this week are football head coach Mark Whipple and track & field assistant coach David Jackson.

Bruno was a factor in both of UMass' goals in a 2-1 double overtime victory over New Hampshire this past Sunday. She first drew a foul in the box that resulted in a penalty kick for the Minutewomen, which Megan Burke converted. Then in the second overtime period, she won the match for UMass in the 103rd minute with her second goal of the season on her 10th shot of the contest.
