UMass' Brandon Walsh Named An FCBL All-Star

AMHERST, Mass. - Rising UMass junior catcher/pitcher Brandon Walsh has been named a Futures Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL), the league announced recently. Walsh will represent his team, the Nashua Silver Knights, as a member of the West Division All-Stars at the third annual Futures Collegiate Baseball League of New England All-Star Game tonight at Campanelli Stadium in Brockton, Mass.
Walsh is currently hitting .280 (14-for-50) over 18 games with two doubles, one triple, two home runs five RBI and six runs scored for Nashua.
This past spring as a sophomore at UMass, Walsh saw action in 37 games with 32 starts and hit .274 (32-for-117) with two doubles, one triple, one home run, 16 RBI and 14 runs scored. He led the team in earned run average, as well, 3.02 over 44.2 innings in 16 appearances with four starts. Walsh had a 2-4 record in 2014 with two saves, 18 walks, 35 strikeouts and an opponent batting average of .262.
Tonight's All-Star game is scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m.
