UMass Women's Soccer Earns NSCAA Academic Award

AMHERST, Mass. - The UMass women's soccer program has received a Team Academic Award from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), the organization announced on Wednesday. The Minutewomen were among 586 women's soccer programs that posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher in the 2013-14 academic year to earn the recognition.
UMass combined for a 3.33 GPA in 2013-14. For head coach Ed Matz, it marks the 10th time in the last 11 years that a team under his direction has received an NSCAA Team Academic Award.
Back in July, 10 UMass women's soccer players earned spots on the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll honor roll for posting a 3.5 or higher GPA for the Spring 2014 semester, including current team members junior Jackie Bruno, senior Eleni Kacher, redshirt sophomore Danielle Kriscenski, redshirt freshman Jackie Miller, redshirt sophomore Breanna Robinson, redshirt freshman Jenny Scro and junior Madison Smith.
