KINGSTON, R.I. - The UMass rowing team began its spring season on Saturday at the Yankee Cup, racing against Boston College and conference rivals Rhode Island and George Washington. UMass is using a lower stroke rate racing style this season, which will leave considerable room for improvement in speed as the season progresses.
