Novice Rowers Finish Fourth At The Green Monster

DARTMOUTH, N.H. - The UMass rowing program competed in the Green Monster Regatta on Saturday against boats from Dartmouth, Boston College, Northeastern, MIT and Vermont. Three Minutewomen boats participated in the Novice 8+ race on the Connecticut River.

The UMass A entry took fourth place overall at the novice regatta with a time of 16:42. The boat consisted of Sam Wonderlin, Meghan Rubbo, Caroline Turnbull, Natalie Boisvert, Hadley Irvin, Catherine Murphy, Teagan Rolf von den Baumen and Abigail Raichek.

The Massachusetts B boat finished 11th and completed the course in 18:23, only nine seconds behind tenth place Vermont A. The C boat took 13th with a time of 19:39, which was one second ahead of the MIT Lightweight B entry.

The Minutewomen will return to action next spring as they host Coast Guard in Hadley, Mass. on March 22, 2014.
