Boucher, Streitfield, Bennett Take First At Dad Vail Regatta

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Four members of the UMass rowing team headed to Philadelphia, Pa. for the annual Dad Vail Regatta, where they competed in the pair and the single scull races on Saturday.

Michaela Streitfield and Kendall Bennett took a first place finish in the pair competition, finishing with a time of 8:21.09 in the finals, less than three seconds ahead of the boat from Cincinatti. The pair qualified for Saturday's competition on Friday, where they took first place in the race with a time of 8:24.88. Then, in the qualifying heat before the final on Saturday, they took another first place finish, beating the boat from Tampa by ten seconds with a time of 8:04.67.

Also with a first place finish was Emily Boucher, who crossed the finish line with a time of 8:08.15, which was less than eight seconds ahead of fellow Minutewoman Amanda Doolin, who came in second place with a time of 8:15.72. Boucher also took first place in her qualifying heat earlier in the day, beating the Oklahoma City boat by more than twelve seconds. Doolin came in second place in her qualifying heat where she finished with a time of 8:33.21, four seconds behind the winning boat from Stetson.
