Day One Complete At A-10's For MT&F

NORTH KINGSTON, R.I. - After one day of competition at the A-10 Indoor Championships, the Minutemen sit fifth in a field of ten squads with 15 points. Day two action concludes the Conference Meet at 9:30 a.m. in Rhode Island on Saturday.
Zachary Koncki was back at it on Friday in both the 60 meter hurdles and long jump. The Northampton, Mass native leaped 23-3.50 to finish third in the long jump, while crossing the line at 8.28 in the prelims of the 60 hurdles. The finals of the event will take place tomorrow, as Koncki set a new personal record in the hurdles on Friday.
Another impressive start to the A-10 Meet was Peter Farlow in the men's heptathlon. The freshman multi has accumulated 2531 points and sits fourth after one day of competition and four events.
Wrapping up day one action was the distance medley relay team comprised of Jared Reddy, Evan Donadt, Curt Owen, and Antony Taylor who worked together to set a new team season-best time of 10:11.53 in the event. The mark was good enough for third place overall.
UMass will have its sights set on an A-10 Title tomorrow at URI.
