AMHERST, Mass. - Despite jumping out to an early lead, Temple proved to be too much for the UMass women's basketball team in a 76-48 setback at the Mullins Center on Wednesday evening. The Minutewomen are now 6-15 overall and 2-4 in conference play, while the Owls improve to 14-6 and remain undefeated in the Atlantic 10 at 5-0.

Sophomore Shakia Robinson also reached double figures with 11 points and her classmate, Jasmine Watson, had six points and six rebounds. Senior Megan Zullo contributed five points and six assists and freshman Kelly Robinson totaled five points, five rebounds and three assists.
The Minutewomen started strong, leading 6-2 early on and holding an 11-7 advantage on a basket by Mosgrove with 13:07 remaining in the opening period. However, Temple answered with a 20-2 run over a stretch of 5:38 that put the Owls out in front by a 27-13 margin and was capped off by five straight points from Shey Peddy. The Minutewomen could draw no closer than 15 in the second half as the Owls went up by as many as 30 in the final period.
UMass finished the night 19-for-47 (40.4%) from the field, compared to Temple's 29-for-73 (39.7%). The Owls shot 7-for-27 (25.9%) from beyond the arc, while the Minutewomen were 4-for-11 (36.4%). At the free throw line, UMass made 6-of-13 (46.2%) and Temple sunk 11-of-19 (57.9%).
