A-10 Tournament Field Announced For Women's Soccer

AMHERST, Mass. - The field has been announced for the Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer Championship, with UMass earning the No. 5 seed for its second straight tournament berth. The Minutewomen will face No. 4 St. Bonaventure on Thursday, Nov. 4, at 7:30 p.m. at the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, R.I.
UMass' first round match against the Bonnies will follow No. 3 Duquesne against No. 6 La Salle, which will begin at 5 p.m. The highest remaining seed after Thursday's action will move on to face No. 2 Dayton on Friday, Nov. 5, at 7:30 p.m. in the quarterfinals. The lowest remaining seed will play No. 1 Charlotte prior to that contest at 5:00 p.m.
The league championship will be played on Sunday, Nov. 7, at 1:00 p.m.
All five matches (pending weather) are scheduled to be webcast free of charge on the Atlantic10.com. Tickets are $6 for a one-day pass and $15 for a three-day pass for adults. Children (18 and under) and senior citizens are $4 per day, while students from Atlantic 10 schools are $3 with ID.
The Minutewomen finished the regular season with a record of 8-10-0, 5-4-0 in A-10 play, tying the most conference victories for the program since 2001. It marks the first time since 1999 and 2000 that the squad has qualified for the conference tournament in consecutive seasons.
UMass is making its 11th A-10 Tournament appearance and has won five Atlantic 10 Championships, including a league-record three straight from 1993 to 1995.
